How to Care for Your Chihuahua Puppies

Tip 1:  Bathing and Grooming

These petite pups do not require bathing very often. In fact, giving them too many baths will cause their coats, whether they’re short or long-haired, to become dry and lose its luster and shine. An occasional lukewarm bath with a dog-friendly shampoo is necessary. You can do this once every other month unless one of Chihuahua puppies for sale has been out playing in dirt or mud! In between bathing times, you can give your pup a warm wipe down to simply freshen ’em up a bit!

Tip 2: Exercise

Chihuahuas are an active breed and so they’ll most assuredly need exercise. Exercise and a healthy, nutritional diet should go hand-in-hand. In general, Chihuahuas love going for walks. As with all things, exercise requires moderation and Chihuahua puppies will get tired much quicker than you will so keep that in mind and make sure that you don’t overdo it.

Tip 3: Dental Awareness

Make sure that you start brushing your Chis’ teeth early on so that he’ll get used to it. Just like with humans, if you don’t brush or clean your teeth, there will be a build up of tartar, rotting will occur, teeth become infected, and there’s a high chance of your pup developing gum disease can cause even more serious illnesses and result in a loss of teeth and of course bad breath.
