February 22, 2019

Bulldog puppies are simply precious.

At Furry Babies, we know that it takes more than love to keep puppies happy and healthy. We’ve compiled some quick tips that will assist you on this journey with your pet!

  1. Schedule and keep regular check-ups.

When you make your visit to the vet, set the next appointment during that visit. Your vet will typically remind you well in advance of your appointment. It’s important to keep them even if nothing is wrong with your pup!

  1. Feed your Bulldog puppies a healthy diet.

They are prone to obesity. It’s best that you consult with your veterinarian on high-quality foods to feed them.

  1. Exercise.

These babies don’t require nor like a lot of exercise! They certainly will benefit from it, so make sure they get a good walk at least once a day.

  1. Repel fleas and ticks.

Keep your pup’s bedding and your home free from parasites. Invest in preventative aids for your pup and your home.

  1. Bathe your dog.

If possible, skip the trip to the groomer and wash your dog with pet-friendly shampoo. Don’t wash your dog more than once a month, but most require once every few months.

  1. Groom your dog.

Along the lines of #5, you can do this at home. Because Bulldog puppies are short-haired, you’ll just need to stay on top of brushing. They tend to be moderate shedders.

  1. Keep nails clipped and trimmed.

There are plenty of clippers for dogs that you can find. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this yourself, take your pup to a groomer. In either case, they should be kept short.

  1. Keep their teeth clean.

Brush your dog’s teeth daily but at the very least 3 times a week. This will prevent tooth decay and gum disease. There are hard biscuits, rope bones, and nylon chews that help to keep their teeth clean through the grinding and chewing motions.

  1. Keep your dog fit and trim.

As we mentioned, Bulldog puppies are prone to obesity so you will need to feed him a well-balanced diet and regular walks, which will serve as sufficient exercise for them.

  1. Learn more about the breed.

It’s important for you to learn more about Bulldog puppies besides their adorable faces! Pick up a book or visit a site that’s specifically about them. You’ll be able to recognize common health problems, its prevention, and potential diagnosis at their onset.
