At Home Exercises for Dogs

December 8, 2018

There are certain breeds that are prone to obesity and our English Bulldog puppies for sale are part of this category!

No fear however because there are things you can do right from your home that can shed some of those unwanted pounds and get your pup back active and healthier.

  1. Treadmills

Let’s face the fact that not all dogs are sufficiently exercised from short walks and strolls. The reality is that no dog was made the same so not all forms of exercise or going to fit each dog. For English Bulldog puppies, setting them on a treadmill could be what the doctor ordered. The pace should be a slow but consistent one.

  1. Game of Fetch

Okay, so maybe you don’t have a treadmill in your home or it’s still a little dusty from inactivity (no judgment here)! You can play an old-fashioned, yet very effective, game of fetch. This is a great way to engage English Bulldog puppies in inadvertent exercises. This time, only reward your pup with praise – no treats!

  1. Indoor Obstacle Course

This is a fun game that even your little ones can get in on, too. Make some space in your living room because it’s about to be a fun zone. Create a makeshift obstacle course in this area by placing objects that English Bulldog puppies can easily navigate and jump over, keeping in mind that they have short legs. You can make “tunnels” and things like that. When you purchased one of the English Bulldog puppies for sale you signed up to keep it healthy and this is a fun way to do so!

  1. Hide-n-Seek

Once again, this is a game for your kids to play too, if you’re so inclined. Not only does this game get your pup running and active, but it also stimulates his mind. Hide-n-seek teaches (or reinforces) a dog’s recall training. The game is simple and involves the commands “sit” and “stay.” It’s really fun and kills two birds with one stone!
