Why a Maltipoo Puppy Needs to be Your Next Pet!

People are going mad for the Maltipoo puppy and it’s easy to see why!

Physical Attributes

At some point, you may have seen or hugged or kissed a Maltipoo puppy and didn’t even know it! This breed is a surprising cross between the Maltese and Poodle. The latter being either toy or miniature. They’re a “surprise,” because you really don’t know what you’re going to get – that is besides a cute, loving ball of fun. Sometimes they can look more like a Maltese and less of a Poodle or the other way around. This all really depends on their parents. Their colors will vary as well, but their sizes will be about the same – which is approximately 5-15 pounds. Maltipoo puppies generally have the body structure that much more resembles that of the Maltese, versus a Poodle. Their lifespan is about 12 years.

Temperament

As we’ve previously mentioned, the Maltipoo puppy is a crossbreed between the Maltese and Poodle, so trying to predict and standardize their personality and temperaments can be tricky.  Research has shown that, in general, they are friendly, loyal, and energetic dogs. Both the Maltese and Poodle generally display those characteristics, so responsible and reputable breeders have the opportunity to mix a delightful breed, if done correctly.

Grooming

There are two important things noteworthy of mentioning regarding the coat of Maltipoo puppies. Firstly, they don’t produce as much dander as most dogs. They’re as close as they come to being an hypoallergenic dog. Secondly, the Maltipoo puppy requires consistent grooming and a great deal of maintenance. The Poodle’s coat is typically curly and the Maltese’s coat is normally wavy.  This combination, though pleasing to the eye, requires regular maintenance, as a Malipoo puppy’s coat would serve best being groomed by a professional.
